Whilst a vibrant and modern cosmopolitan town, Marbella retains its rich Arabic culture and history as can be seen in the Old Quarter with its magnificent Los Naranjos Plaza (Plaza of the Orange Trees). The narrow cobbled streets are lined with boutiques, cafes and restaurants and is a magnet for tourists day and night.
The evenings are very lively especially around the beach front. The promenade which runs right along the coast to Porto Banus is the hub of activity with tapas and beach bars open until the early hours.

Things to see and do
Marbella and the surrounding area is full of interesting towns, historic cities and countryside to explore. Here are a few suggestions....
- Rock of Gibraltar - one of the last British outposts which still carries an air of intrigue. The Rock is home to thousands of monkeys. Take a trip to the top, enjoy the Botanical Gardens which lie below, or visit St. Michael's Cave, a network of limestone caves. Remember that the currency is Sterling not Euros!
- Ronda - a beautiful white washed town, perched on top of the El Tajo gorge, full of historic charm
- Selwo Marina in Benalmadena - enjoy an amazing family day out watching the dolphin show, meeting the penguins, or swimming with sea lions all set in a beautiful park
- Bahia Aquapark in Algeciras - have fun on the rides, intertubes, wave pool, activity pool, kiddy pool and enjoy the cafes or picnic area

Our view on Marbella
Marbella is a truly stunning and chic destination. With the spectacluar backdrop of the Sierrra Blanca, beautiful vistas are everywhere, from La Concha towering behind, to the white sandy beaches running into the tourquoise Mediterranean.
There is something for everyone with interesting places to visit and fabulous shopping in the numerous designer outlets. With excellent resturants and night life that would rival the most cosmopolitan cities, its difficult not to have a great time in Marbella.
