Killin is a year round destination sitting in the heart of the stunning Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. Located at the western end of Loch Tay in Sterling, in the centre of the area known as Breadalbane, Killin is a wonderful and charming village providing easy access to the local sights such as Falls of Dochart.
During the winter there are plenty of activities for all the family. Hill walking is popular as is ski touring when there is sufficient snow cover. Deer stalking and shooting continue through the winter months and it is possible to fish for large pike before the salmon fishing season opens on 15th January. Then there are the whisky distilleries which are ideal to visit at this time of year for some tastings.

Skiing
Killin is fortunate to be close to the bustling town of Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park. The drive to the gateway of the Scottish Highlands takes around 90 minutes to cover the 77 miles. when snow conditions are good, skiing in the Cairngorms can be as good as the Alps. For apres-ski, there are many cafes, fantastic restaurants, wine bars and nightclubs to keep you entertained until the early hours.
Loch Lomond
This stunning loch sits in the heart of the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park - a place of pristine natural beauty. Its perimeter is 153kms and along the shore you will find many sandy beaches. You can rent a boat and explore the loch and visit one of the Loch's islands.
There are also many excellent golf courses in the area including the Championship course at the Carrick golf club.
Menzies Castle
Castle Menzies is a spectacular sixteenth century Scottish castle, restored during the twentieth century by the Menzies Clan Society. Architecturally fascinating, it is a splendid Renaissance example of the transition in Scottish castles from earlier rugged Highland fortresses to later mansion houses. The Castle was the seat of the Chiefs of Clan Menzies for over 400 years.

A very pretty area, full of life, excellent value and a perfect family holiday destination. Killin is also a great base to explore the other beautiful villages around Loch Tay and The Trossachs National Park.
