Kaanapali Vacation Homes Things to See & Do, Beaches, Nightlife, Vacation Rentals
Kaanapali sits on Maui’s north end of the south coast on the stunning Maalaea Bay with views of Lanai and Kaho'olawe islands and the summit of the 10,000 foot Haleakala volcano in the National Park.
The Haleakala National Park is a must do excursion whilst staying in Kaanapali and is accessed via the Hana Highway that winds up the mountain through lush rain forest, passing incredible waterfalls and pools on the ascent to the summit.
The 18 acres Molokini crater island just off the coast is also a great place for snorkeling and scuba diving - the reefs are teemimng with tropical fish. Molokini Crater is actually the tip of an extinct volcano that just breaks the surface of the ocean between Maui and Kahoolawe.
As a tourist hub for the South West coast, Kaanapali is also home to some gorgeous beach front property especially along Keawakapu Beach, where you can rent a villa or condo knowing that the many cafes, bars, restaurants and shops are close by.

Nightlife
As with the rest of Maui, the nightlife in Kaanapali tends to finish relatively early - people don't come to Maui for late partying - its more about the feeling of being on one of the most beautiful islands in the Pacific. As the sun sets, the best place to experience authentic Maui nightlife in Kaanapali is to make camp at one of the beach bars and restaurants along sea front, listen to live music, watch the shows and dine under the stars.
Kaanapali Beaches
Sitting on the sunny western coast, Kaanapali beach is one of Maui's best boasting three miles of silky white sand offering fantastic views of Kahoolawe, Molokini and Lanai island. It was named "America's Best Beach" in 2003” and for good reason with all the facilities and watersports on your doorstep and just a short walk from all the villas and condos.
For snorkeling enthusiasts, Puu Kekaa, also known as Black Rock, on the northernmost section of Kaanapali beach is excellent with the reefs teeming with tropical fish.
