Nightlife
As the sun disappears into the Pacific, the Haleiwa nighlife gets into gear. By no means as lively as Waikiki beach when it comes to the number of bars and restaurants but thats just how the local like it - more relaxed.
In Haleiwa town, there are several restaurants to choose from serving a range of local and international dishes from Mexican to Thai. One local treat is Shave Ice - its basically a snow cone with finely shaved ice with coloured syrups poured on top and ice cream, mochi or azuki beans on the bottom.
Beaches
Haleiwa is home to the beautiful white sandy beaches along Waimea Bay that ranks amongst the best in Oahu. The sea is shallow and relatively gentle between May and September where swimming, snorkeling, sailing and diving are popular. Between November and February, its big wave time where the breaks can reach beyond 30 feet!
Other local beaches include....
