The mountain village is situated 900 m above sea level and is 7 km from the centre of Oberstdorf. The climatic health resort was incorporated into Oberstdorf in 1972. It is one of the oldest in the Illertal valley and looks back on a long tradition of hospitality; tranquil yet active, with old houses, a church, chapel and wild nature.
